Motion Graphic

This project required me to conceptualize, write the script for, design, direct, and animate a motion graphic. I chose to create a mock promotional advertisement for Disney+ because it has a strong brand identity to work with, and it’s a brand I have interacted with and has positively impacted me.

Project Background

The challenge was to create a motion graphic that promotes a product or service through persuasion. Script writing, storyboarding, sound editing, and animation production, alongside the implementation of Disney+’s existing brand elements, were required to produce the motion graphic.

Design Challenge

The animatic closely follows the storyboard, with the addition of my voiceover and background music. At this stage, I was able to determine if the visual and audio elements worked well together and what scenes might have to be changed to create a more cohesive motion graphic. Based on feedback I received, I modified a few of the style frames and my voiceover, and added various sound effects to create a more immersive experience.

Process

Client

The motion graphic contains intentional animations that allow for interesting transitions between sections of information. It was important to maintain a steady pace to retain the viewer’s attention and progress through the message promptly. Additionally, implementing Disney+’s established brand identity was crucial to create a realistic and cohesive outcome.

This motion graphic was created for a school project and I am not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected in any way to Disney+.
